Northern Arizona VA Health Care System
Honoring Vietnam Era Veterans
Community Living Center (CLC) patients surrounded by their family and friends as they receive their 50th Anniversary pin and coin presented by NAVAHCS Leadership
Northern Arizona VA Health Care System (NAVAHCS) has been honoring Vietnam Era Veterans for several years. In 2012, our medical center leadership created a special coin to recognize Vietnam Era Veterans because that year was the 50th Anniversary of the beginning of the Vietnam War. NAVAHCS acknowledges our Vietnam Era Veterans by Welcoming them Home and presenting them with the coin. Many of the Veterans we have presented the 50th Anniversary Commemorative Pin and coin to have said, “You are the first one to welcome me home”. It is hard felt and sad. It is unfortunate that our Vietnam Veterans did not get the welcome home they deserved but we are hoping to be able to try and make up for that with our Veterans now.
NAVAHCS serves over 26,000 registered Veterans and over 14,000 of those Veterans are from the Vietnam Era. Our goal is to ensure that EVERY Vietnam Era Veteran receives their 50th Anniversary Commemoration Pin. If you have not received your pin, please contact NAVAHCS Public Affairs Officer (PAO), Mary Dillinger at (928) 717-7587.
NAVAHCS Vietnam Era Veterans who receive care at one of our Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) or Primary Care Telehealth Outpatient Clinics (PTOCs) are not excluded. You do not have to be in the Prescott area to receive a pin. Please call the number above to coordinate with the PAO for you to receive your pin as well.
We want ALL of our Veterans to know that we appreciate their service and we are honored to serve them at NAVAHCS. Almost 40 percent of our work force at NAVAHCS is Veterans and they are honored to serve our Veterans.
Thank you all for your service!
