Northern Arizona VA Health Care System
Psychology Training - Internship Program
The Doctoral Psychology Internship at the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System (NAVAHCS) is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of American Psychological Association. NAVAHCS Psychology Internship has been granted accreditation with our next site visit in 2022. This internship is currently in our 9th year of training and having graduated 8 classes of interns. We have had great success in placing interns within the VA and here at NAVAHCS.
The NAVAHCS Psychology Training Program offers internships to U.S. citizens who are pursuing a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited institution. We utilize the AAPI Online application forms that are available at the APPIC website. To be considered, students must demonstrate completion of at least three years of graduate course work from an APA Accredited Ph.D. or Psy.D. program in clinical or counseling psychology. Applicants should have 500 direct contact hours in assessment and intervention. Applicants must have completed their comprehensive examinations, proposed their dissertations, and be certified as ready for internship by their Director of Training.
