Description of Program:

The Northern Arizona VA Health Care System (NAVAHCS) and the Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF) have come together to provide a VA health care team to work side-by-side with Indian Health Services (IHS) in Chinle. This team-based approach to primary care was designed to enhance access to health care for Veterans residing in and around the Navajo Nation. Eligible Veterans are able to access both IHS and VA health care services in one location. In addition to enhancing primary care services, Veterans will have access to VA post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) counselors. Other services to include specialty services via telemedicine are being evaluated as well.
