Suicide Prevention Program

All VA Facilities have a Suicide Prevention Program managed by at least one Suicide Prevention Coordinator (SPC) at the local level. The SPC facilitates the implementation of suicide prevention strategies through education, monitoring, and coordination of care. The program includes identifying and tracking patients assessed to be high-risk for suicide, conducting suicide prevention training for facility staff and community members and providing enhanced care and support to Veterans who are vulnerable for suicidal behavior. Our staff also provides close follow-up for any high-risk Veteran with missed appointments.  The Veteran and Military Crisis Line is a 24-hour, toll-free service available to anyone in crisis, call 1-800-273-825 and press 1.  You can also reach the Crisis Line using Confidential Chat at: Veterans Crisis Line or Text: to: 838255.  You will be connected to a trained VA mental health professional whose mission is to provide immediate assistance to anyone seeking mental health services. Call for yourself or someone you care about. Your call is free and confidential.
